Abstract
The dynamic controllability of this highly heat integrated and interacting process is studied in this paper. A detailed dynamic simulation is constructed, and an effective control structure is developed that handles large disturbances in throughput and feed composition. The numerical example considers the dehydration of tert-butanol using cyclohexane as the entrainer in heterogeneous azeotropic distillation.
