Abstract
The following schematic diagram illustrates the adsorption and photodegradation of phenol compounds on the titania/graphene oxide (TGO) composite catalyst. This reflects the superior ability of the TGO catalysts to avoid the re-combination of electron-hole pairs. As have stated in the text, the TGO catalyst possesses the largest number of active sites for phenol adsorption among these catalysts. Therefore, the TGO catalyst not only exhibits better adsorption ability but also an excellent photocatalytic activity toward phenol compounds in liquid phase. 158
