Abstract
Although microgrids are now widely studied, challenges still exist. A reliable control architecture needs to be developed to coordinate different devices. Advanced forecasting and demand response management approaches should be implemented to cope with the intermittence of renewable generation. Moreover, interconnection issues should be further studied to eliminate the influence of microgrid integration and achieve coordinated operation throughout the system.
