Abstract
This paper deals with the characterization and the modeling of the temperature effect on the piezoelectric tube actuator. Besides the sensitivity to the variation of the temperature, this actuator is characterized by the hysteresis and the creep non-linearities, the badly-damped vibration and the cross-couplings between its three axis. First, the characterization results of the sensitivity of this actuator to the temperature variation (thermo-mechanical deflection) are presented. Then, the effect of the temperature on the hysteresis, the creep, the vibration and the cross-couplings is presented. Finally, from the existing electro-mechanical model of the deflection of the piezoelectric actuators, the temperature-dependent model is proposed. The validation results on one of the piezoelectric tube axis demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed modeling approach.
