Abstract
This paper describes experience in systems for collecting heat from the thermally active Hedvika and Krimich mining dumps. The Hedvika mining dump is located in Moravia-Silesia Region in the municipality of Petvald; the Krimich mining dump is located near the village of Tlun in West Bohemia Region. It deals with two distinct systems for heat collection and utilization. The first system is based on the use of deep heat collectors and the subsequent use of the heat for tempering a storage hall and hot service water heating. The second system comprises flat heat collectors and the energy obtained is used to heat an experimental greenhouse for growing plants. The paper summarizes the practical experience in operating both systems and outlines their further development and use.
