Abstract
The conventional PID control scheme has been used widely to control the elongation ratio in a skin pass mill of a continuous annealing line. However, there are big deviations of an elongation ratio between a specified set point and a real since the real plant is a highly nonlinear system in which many uncertain parameters are involved. Therefore, there is a need to build a suitable model and controller. In this paper, we attempt to design the Takagi and Sugeno's fuzzy model that is derived from the measured input-output data at the real plant. The fuzzy model predictive controller is applied to improve elongation ratio in a skin pass mill.
