Abstract
A standard PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controller, which is avaliable in many PLCs is in many cases is not efficient enough (slow reaction, overshoot etc.). In many cases PID is the only option for continuous control delivered by hardware vendor. This work is a response toward great interest of implementing non-standard control in industry. There is presented a new function block library of model predictive controllers (MPC) for SIMA TIC-S7 programmable logic controllers. There was programmed one of the MPC algorithms called PFC (Predictive Functional Control), which is easy to explain, does not require lot of computation power and is easy to tune
