Abstract
⺠We examine a sliding mode controller for a micro-cantilever beam (μCB). ⺠The beam is governed by fringing and squeezed film damping effects. ⺠We approximated the frequency dependent μCB with a valid frequency independent one. ⺠Robustness of the controller against disturbances is proved by Lyapunov's second law. ⺠Bifurcation analysis is carried on the beam's nonlinear model.
