Abstract
► We examine a sliding mode controller for a micro-cantilever beam (μCB). ► The beam is governed by fringing and squeezed film damping effects. ► We approximated the frequency dependent μCB with a valid frequency independent one. ► Robustness of the controller against disturbances is proved by Lyapunov's second law. ► Bifurcation analysis is carried on the beam's nonlinear model.
