Abstract
► A system architecture for control and automation using fieldbus networks is analysed. ► The controllers are implemented in both centralized and distributed configurations. ► The scheduling and the synchronism among the devices affect the controller performances. ► In this paper, the performance of the distributed configuration is better than that of the centralized one.
