Abstract
⺠A system architecture for control and automation using fieldbus networks is analysed. ⺠The controllers are implemented in both centralized and distributed configurations. ⺠The scheduling and the synchronism among the devices affect the controller performances. ⺠In this paper, the performance of the distributed configuration is better than that of the centralized one.
