Abstract
⺠A Laser-EMAT non destructive test system for steel slabs produces a huge amount of noisy data. ⺠Data reduction is applied to limit the time required for defect detection. ⺠Two de-noising techniques are proposed and compared. ⺠The Wavelet-based de-noising outperforms the Split Spectrum Processing approach. ⺠A user-friendly software has been implemented to visualize and pre-process the data.
