Abstract
One of the most important performance parameters for repair materials is adhesion of the material to substrate. We conducted finite element model simulations of the tension struts to discuss the factors that enhance the strength and ductility of the repair-substrate (mortar or concrete) interface. One of the features in the simulation lies in the material distribution model reflecting the features of the repair-substrate interface. The main points discussed involve the role of aggregates in repair, the required mechanical properties for the repair, and the relationship between fractographic parameter and the mechanical properties of the interface.
