Abstract
Effect of radial pressure (uniform and hydrostatic) on the natural frequencies of thin-walled circular cylindrical shells and associated circumferential wavenumber. Fig. A.1 shows the effect of uniform radial load on the natural frequencies corresponding to circumferential wavenumbers n⩾2 and Fig. A.2 shows the effect of hydrostatic pressure on the beam mode vibration of the circular cylindrical shell. Here Pcr is the lowest critical radial pressure (-ve sign denotes radially inward pressure).306
