Abstract
In this paper we propose a new engineering methodology for continuous integrity evaluation of corroded pipelines. Their steel materials are applicable to predict ductile failures of full-scale pipes with pits, non-sharp notch-type corrosion defects and other metal losses which can be analyzed with spherical and spheroid shaped defects. Firstly, the validation of the elastic-plastic results obtained by a known FEA software is carried out, then, parameterization of starting characteristic and mobile defects deepening with the corrosion speed, furthermore the Complex diagram are introduced. Results (predicted load carrying capacities) calculated according to the developed procedure are published in the Part II.
