Abstract
Circuit breakers are important devices in the electrical grid, ensuring safe and reliable uninterrupted power flow. During interruption of high fault currents, an electrical arc is generated. To interrupt the electrical arc quickly and protect the devices, ablation of polymeric materials is used for cooling. We demonstrate effective arc interruption capability by using engineered polymer inorganic PMMA-ZnO nanocomposites.182
