Abstract
Spatial evolution of super Gaussian beam in Chalcogenide glass (Kerr medium) is investigated for input power in the range 15Pcr to 180Pcr using Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation. Solutions are obtained by numerical simulation with split step beam propagation method and are analysed to study the effect of input noise level on the process of multiple filamentation in super Gaussian beam, where emphasis is on the control of properties of the self-guided super Gaussian laser beam by externally induced input noise. Control of properties of self-guided laser beam is a necessity in generation of tailored filaments.
