Abstract
The influences of the nonlinear parameter and the inhomogeneous parameter on second-harmonic generation (SHG) are investigated in this paper. Numerical results show that the relationship between the efficiency of SHG and those parameters can be conveniently established by exact solutions. These results promise a way to tune SHG and other harmonic effects quantitatively according to designing materials with proper nonlinearity and inhomogeneity.
