Abstract
In this paper, semi-analytical solutions for two-dimensional(2-D) modeling of long pulsed laser heating metals with temperature dependent surface absorption was presented. Firstly, based on classical heat transfer theory, the 2-D physical model of the temperature rise of the laser irradiated metal surface is established when the absorption coefficient changes with temperature. Then, the semi-analytical solutions of the heat transfer governing equation is obtained by using the Laplace transform and the method of separation of variables. Finally, aluminum, steel, copper and silver are selected as examples, and their temperatures are simulated using the presented method considering the temperature dependent surface absorption. This paper can provide an effective method for revealing the mechanism of laser and material interaction, moreover it can also offer a theoretical basis for the experiment of laser irradiating metal.
