Abstract
Schiff based naphthalene compounds were synthesized and characterized. Effect of electron donor/acceptor groups on the electro-optical, charge transfer and NLO properties were studied by DFT and TDDFT. Superior electron injection revealed auxiliary development towards efficient sensitizers. Compounds 2 and 3 have 8 and 6 times larger βtot than that of para-nitro aniline.
