Abstract
CuXZn1-XO composites were synthesized by precipitation method. The structural property of prepared samples was studied using X-Ray Diffraction, Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy and particle size analysis technique. UV-vis spectroscopy and Photoluminescence spectroscopy are used to analyse the optical properties of the prepared samples. Photocatalytic performance of CuXZn1-XO composite (x = 1, 0.75, 0.5, 0.25, 0) was analysed with respect to the degradation of methylene blue. The photocatalytic efficiency of the composite was found to be dependent on the strength of Zn-OH bond.
