Abstract
This paper discloses the derivation of the generalized vectorial laws of reflection and refraction reported by the author in 2005 on the basis of Fermat's principle. The cases of plane as well as concave spherical mirrors have been considered for the derivation of the generalized vectorial law of reflection. On the other hand, the derivation of the generalized vectorial law of refraction has been accomplished by considering plane as well as concave spherical surfaces of discontinuity.
