Abstract
In this paper, we mainly investigated the propagation of light wave in the metallic spiral wire. Based on the structure of metallic spiral wire, we presented the relative dielectric constant tensor. Using Pauli matrix and Maxwell's equations, we study the optical properties of the spiral metal coil. The theoretical results show that the left circular polarized light cannot propagate in the left metallic spiral wire coil when the wavelength is not equal to the pitch of the spiral metallic wire coil. The further study show that the no-polarized light cannot propagates when the light wavelength is far less than the pitch of the spiral metallic wire coil.
