Abstract
In this paper, by using the new Jacobi elliptic function rational expansion method and the exponential rational function method, new exact solutions of the unstable nonlinear Schrödinger equation are obtained. The present methods are very effective and simples and can be applied to other types of nonlinear equations. The results found can be compared with other methods used to solve the same model.
