Abstract
In this paper, the absorption coefficient of the PbSe quantum well with random potential and different diameters is investigated. The Schrodinger equation is solved numerically and the optical properties are obtained using the density matrix approach. Results show that the absorption coefficient increases when size of the quantum well increases. Also, by increasing the size of the quantum well the absorption energy shifted to the lower energies. Finally absorption spectrums for different diameters and for two randomness cases are calculated.
