Abstract
The performance of a laser diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd: GYSGG laser at 1331Â nm with a V: YAG saturable absorber was first reported. A maximum average output power of 251Â mW was obtained under pump power of 11.75Â W. By using 8.8% output coupler, a minimum pulse width of 23.9Â ns and a pulse repetition rate of 11Â kHz were achieved, corresponding to the peak power of 954Â W.
