Abstract
In this paper, the overall transmitted efficiency of GaAs-Air-AlAs ternary grating SOI structure is thoroughly investigated at wavelength 1310Â nm and 1550Â nm. Here absorption, reflection as well as diffraction losses are considered to obtain the overall transmitted efficiency. The absorption loss for the same grating structure is zero at both 1310Â nm and 1550Â nm wavelength. Reflectances from such structure are simulated by using plane wave expansion method. Simulation result revealed that reflectances of aforementioned grating structure are zero at both 1310Â nm and 1550Â nm. Simulation is also made for diffraction efficiency at both wavelengths (1310Â nm and 1550Â nm) with respect to detuning from Bragg's angle, which varies from â57.30 to +57.30. Finally it is showed that both diffraction efficiency as well as overall transmitted efficiency is nearly constant and more than 99.4% with respect to detuning from Bragg's angle, which ranges from â190 to +190.
