Abstract
Efficient polymer SOI structures at wavelength 800 nm, 1310 nm and 1550 nm are reported in this research. Here there are three types of polymer such as PMMA-HDPE, PP-PC and PTPE-PETP grating structures are cogitated to realize high transmitted efficiency. Different sorts of losses such as absorption, reflection and diffraction are considered during the computation of overall transmitted efficiency. As far as absorption loss is concerned, it is zero for all structures at three windows. Reflection loss is found using plane wave expansion method, where diffraction efficiency is obtained using numerical equation. Simulation result reveals that overall transmitted efficiency through above grating SOI structure is more than 97% with respect to angle of deviation from Bragg's angle, which varies from â23° to 23° in all optical communication windows. Finally, this paper divulges an interesting variation between input wavelength and grating length.
