Abstract
The aim of the paper is to study the difference in the Re yield point and the ultimate Rm tensile strength in steel-sheet S235JR, samples taken from the outer and middle part of the top layer and the inner part of the circle. The mentioned material characteristics determine the bearing capacity and the stiffness of platform gratings of a certain construction. The samples were cut out at 0°, 45°, and 90° angles in relation to the steel-sheet rolling direction. The differences in the Re and Rm values may be due to non-identical steel-sheet cooling times in different areas of the circle and the strain hardening of the pieces during flattening. The chemical composition and the structure of the flat bars were studied.
