Abstract

This paper sets out the method of improving the accuracy of mechatronic systems used for measurements of complex geometry. At the core of this method is a programmed compensation of systematic errors (inaccuracies) of mechatronic systems. The difference of the proposed method from the existing solutions is that this method employs three relatively simple reference gauges: cylindrical, flat, and spherical. The methodology suggests measuring the reference gauges, calculating the compensation parameters and their subsequent accounting when deriving the results of measurements. The parameters of compensation of systemic errors are defined on the basis of the results of measurements of the said reference gauges of surfaces in a mechatronic system. This paper describes a model which enables to optimize the choice of parameters for measurement of reference gauges. The method may be applied for enhancement of the accuracy of measurements of mechatronic systems used in process-specific coordinate measurement machines.
