Abstract
Numerical prediction of deformations in laser-welded joints is important at the stage of construction design. The work concerns the modeling and numerical analysis of thermomechanical phenomena occurring in the laser welding process. Three dimensional discrete model of pipe-to-flat fillet weld is created in Abaqus FEA engineering software. Numerical analysis takes into account changing with temperature thermomechanical properties of welded plate made of austenitic steel. Additional numerical subroutine included into the solver takes into account a mathematical model of heat source power distribution. It is assumed that the heat source is moving in the polar system. The positioning of the source relative to the joined edge is taken into account in the analysis.
