Abstract

Over the time period 2002 - 2010 many of the bridges crossing the Bega Channel in Timisoara city were rehabilitated. The analyzed bridge, the Traian Bridge, is approximately 100 years old and is realized out of reinforced concrete as Gerber solution. The works had different complexity degrees depending on the degradation level of the crossing structure and of its age. The bridge assures a gauge which includes a combined traffic, vehicles and tram. This particularity required specific rehabilitation solutions. In order to bring the crossing structure to an appropriate viability level, structural rehabilitation works and an anticorrosive protection of the concrete elements were executed, but also new solutions for the execution of the footway and the tram railway were adopted. The paper analysis the behaviour in exploitation of the rehabilitated elements and of the adopted technical solutions for the above mentioned structure.
