Abstract
The “Caterpillar” bridge at Kerepesi Way is located at the intersection of vital traffic routes of Budapest. The challenging location and the strict requirements demanded the use of a special type of structure, with an unique method of construction. The steel arch bridge has a span of 82.7 m, width of 34 m, and it was built maintaining continuously both railway or road traffic.
