Abstract
⺠Nursing home residents are almost never included in micro data. ⺠I quantify the strong wealth decumulation of nursing home residents. ⺠Excluding them results in a significant overestimation of saving rates from age 75. ⺠The inclusion of nursing home residents makes life-cycle theory more plausible.
