Abstract
⺠Evaluates the role of functional form of demographics in demand analysis. ⺠Nests 'unstructured' and Barten-Gorman forms in GQL and other demand systems. ⺠Equivalence of 'unstructured' and Barten-Gorman forms cannot be rejected for GQL. ⺠Their equivalence is rejected for shape-invariant GQL, AIDS and marginally QUAIDS. ⺠Barten-Gorman form identifies more meaningful equivalence scales for QUAIDS, AIDS.
