Abstract
⺠We explore changes in wages and in rank position for job movers, using rich longitudinal linked employer-employee data. ⺠Movers enjoy a wage premium, unless the move is involuntary. ⺠The wage premium of job movers declines with rank inside the new firm. ⺠This indicates that movers trade-off money and rank position.
