Abstract
⺠We use an underlying model which makes the macroeconomic relations more explicit. ⺠We simplify the analysis and restore Rogoff's conservative central banker proposition. ⺠Hughes Hallett et al. (2009) challenged this result due to their reduced-form model. ⺠An adverse shock induces above-target average inflation and tighter monetary policy.
