Abstract
⺠We identify a cyclical bias in both monthly and annual revisions to the current employment statistics (CES) benchmark revision. ⺠We identify a seasonal pattern in the benchmark revisions to the seasonally adjusted CES series. ⺠We propose a change to the BLS methodology that would remove the observed seasonal bias.
