Abstract
⺠We model the link between crime and labor market in a developing country setting. ⺠We examine the effect of labor market and deterrence variables on crime rate. ⺠Wage rate and per capita income significantly affect the crime rate over the sample. ⺠The results are not affected by the type of data used. ⺠The findings are consistent with those of past studies.
