Abstract

I suggest a concept of convergence stronger than σ-convergence. This concept, ρ-convergence, is equivalent to β-divergence in reverse time and implies bounds for convergence speed of merely σ-convergent economies. Empirically, the ρ-concept detects divergence earlier than the σ- or β-concept.
