Abstract
In this paper it is shown that, under the Marshall and Olkin [Marshall, A.W., Olkin, I., 1967. A Multivariate Exponential Distribution. American Statistical Association Journal, pp. 30-44.] conditions, it is possible to prove the appearing of two stylized facts in industrial dynamics: Pareto shape (firms' size) and Laplace distribution (firms' growth rates).
