Abstract
⺠We analyze exchange-rate-based-stabilization in a model with durable consumer goods. ⺠The weak credibility hypothesis can account for the stylized facts. ⺠Quantitative effects on consumption and the real exchange rate are large. ⺠Supply effects are limited to a secondary role.
