Abstract
⺠Payments for ecosystem services incorporate principles of justice in their designs. ⺠These tend to be globally dominant conceptions of environmental justice. ⺠These conceptions might not align with those of local stakeholders. ⺠Alignment/conflict between justice conceptions influences process and outcomes. ⺠PES and other conservation interventions will benefit from justice analysis.
