Abstract
► We explore how an Australian Aboriginal corporation engages in adaptive governance of their SES. ► Tenuous funding and few land rights encourage innovative institution building. ► Governance emphasises visionary leadership, reconciliation and partnership development. ► Strategies articulate SES aspirations into environment, education and art partnership projects. ► Findings speak to resilience and adaptive governance literature and inform Aboriginal practice.
