Abstract
⺠Development through football is a microcosm of international development and not a singular model. ⺠At its heart is the established model of NGO-led community development. ⺠That model had neoliberal and postcolonial variants, which overlap to some extent in practice. ⺠The role of the media in development is changing, in a way that suggests a novel 'NGO-isation' of the media itself.
