Abstract
⺠Performing place in border area by expertise based name-giving, map-making, installation object. ⺠This is a form of subpolitics involving politicization and depoliticization. ⺠It involved the articulation of certain values and also the ignoring and exclusion of others. ⺠The use of 'expertise' as a key depoliticizing activity. ⺠Local and European ambitions coalesced and reinforced each other.
