Abstract
⺠There is a link between discourse and space. ⺠Spatial planning documents and associated practices are analysed. ⺠Spatial practices are the outcome of competing interests. ⺠Interests are separated and treated independently while differences are not confronted. ⺠Sustainable development solutions are about how the use of space is negotiated.
