Inorganic–organic hybrid material was formed by [PW11O39]7− and benzene-1,3,5-[tris(phenyl-4-carboxylic acid)] tris (2-trimethyl-ammonium ethyl) ester. This hybrid material behaved as a very effective and selective heterogeneous catalyst for the epoxidation of olefins with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant. This heterogeneous catalyst could be easily recovered and reused after reaction without loss of activity.
Graphical abstractA heterogeneous catalytic material for epoxidation has been synthesized by preparing insoluble inorganic–organic hybrid compounds based on a tripodal organic triammonium cation and a catalytically active POM [PW11O39]7−.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slideResearch Highlights► A heterogeneous catalytic material based on [PW11O39]7-, BTE-PW11O39, has been synthesized. ► BTE-PW11O39 catalyzes olefins epoxidation efficiently. ► BTE-PW11O39 can be reused without loss of activity.
