Abstract
► Macroeconomic relationships between incumbent and potential GCC members are analyzed. ► The incumbent and potential members are: Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia; and Jordan. ► The focus is on economic growth and inflation within a global framework. ► It uses the SVAR model with block exogeneity and identifying restrictions. ► The main result indicates that Jordan may not join based on the business cycle.
