Abstract

Inorganic–organic hybrid material catalyzed one-pot three-component Mannich reaction of ketones with aromatic aldehydes and different amines at ambient temperatures afforded β-amino carbonyl compounds in excellent yields. This method provides a novel and improved modification of three-component Mannich reaction in terms of mild reaction conditions and clean reaction profiles, using small amount of catalyst, simple workup procedure and ease of recovery and reusability of catalyst.

Graphical abstractNovel inorganic–organic hybrid silica based tin(II) catalyst was investigated for one-pot, three-component Mannich reaction. High yields, mild reaction conditions and recyclability of catalyst make it a green protocol.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slideResearch Highlights► Synthesis of novel inorganic–organic hybrid silica based tin(II) catalyst. ► Characterization of catalyst by FTIR, 13C CPMAS NMR and EDXRF studies. ► Greener method for synthesis of β-amino ketones under mild reaction conditions. ► Recyclability of catalyst without a significant decrease in catalytic activity.
