Abstract
⺠I examine the effect of psychological factors on FDI flows. ⺠In particular, I analyze the impact of Japanese affinity with foreign countries on Japanese FDI outflows. ⺠The higher Japan's affinity with a foreign country, the more likely its FDI is to flow to that country. ⺠Increases in affinity among countries may facilitate world economic integration.
