Abstract
⺠Presence of national border adds excess variations in cross-border city prices. ⺠A “before and after a border framework” is used. ⺠Partition of British India in 1947 adds large variation in cross-border city prices. ⺠New border in 1971 adds smaller variation in cross-border city prices. ⺠Excess price variation may not be the result of the presence of a national border.
